Art Kits
Our organization provides children in Hawaii facing unique traumas and challenges—hospitalizations, houselessness, and other hardships—with access to art supplies through pre-packaged art kits in order to promote wellness and provide a therapeutic outlet. Our art kits offer a loving boost to children who most need our community’s support and care.
Art Pals
Art Pals connects school students, children in shelters, and children in hospitals to exchange art cards with uplifting drawings and inspiring messages. In the Aloha spirit of friendship, giving, and warmth, we are sharing 1,000 handmade cards containing pre-written messages with Hawaii’s children to enliven and uplift.
Art Supply Drive
In April 2022, we initiated our first art supply drive at Punahou School. To date, we have raised over 2,000 items, and our mission is to raise more supplies through schools across Hawaii. Using these collected supplies, Art2Wellness works with children in Pu’uhonua o Waianae, teaching them about sustainability and upcycling. In their summer program, children go through crayon-melting sessions to repurpose donated crayons into new shapes. They then are able to choose whether they want to keep their new crayons or gift them to children in Hawaii’s hospitals.
Student-Made Coloring Books
Our organization has partnered with Punahou School’s Visual Storytelling course, Capstone course, and Writers and Artists Club. Punahou students cross-campus ideate, draw, and design their own coloring book pages. Art2Wellness collects these designs from Punahou’s student body and binds them to create unique and loving coloring books for institutions helping Hawaii’s children. Furthermore, students have an option to design a Punahou-themed coloring book that will be sold for fundraising in the school bookstore and online. Our coloring book initiative allows Punahou students to contribute to children facing challenges and to make a positive, meaningful impact.
Art Lessons Videos
We believe that all children have the right to explore their creativity. We work to offer access to art lessons to all of Hawaii’s children. Art2Wellness team members work diligently to create high-quality, instructionally-valuable art lesson videos. We teach children the skills to draw, paint, and sketch. Art2Wellness embraces the therapeutic value of art and is committed to offering art lessons to every child in Hawaii and beyond. Our hands-on, student-led professional videos provide the highest quality instruction on art techniques and projects, empowering all children with the therapeutic joy of making art.
Words of Wisdom Videos
Art2Wellness invites certified, trained therapists to share words of wisdom as a resilience-building tool. We know that positivity training and learning to think positively can benefit well-being, especially for children who have experienced hardship and trauma.
