We provide Hawaii’s children with:

  • Pre-packaged art kits (currently repurposing and upcycling collected art supplies for these kits)
  • Inspirational, empowering videos from Punahou School psychologists and counselors
  • Student-created art lessons
  • Hopeful and caring cards created by art buddies (through our Art Pals program)

The Arts Serve Everyone With a Creative Outlet to Self-Express, Heal, and Thrive.

Realizing that mental health is increasingly becoming a youth crisis disproportionately affecting Hawaii, Art2Wellness, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, aims to raise awareness about the crisis and provide Hawaii’s children with the access to therapeutic care readily available in other parts of the nation but less accessible in Hawaii. Art2Wellness offers children a way to access the arts and art supplies, allowing them to express themselves and ease their thoughts.

Shocking Statistics

Hawaii faces the fourth-highest rate of homelessness nationally
In the US 38% of Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islanders are battling depression/anxiety
Native Hawaiians and Pacific Islanders are three times less likely to receive care than others

Our Mission

Our mission is to provide children in Hawaii facing unique traumas and challenges—hospitalizations, houselessness, and other hardships—with access to art as a way to promote wellness and provide a therapeutic outlet. We strive to provide children in Hawaii’s hospitals, shelters, and other institutions with a space to find resilience, calm their thoughts, and heal through art.

AVA PAKRAVAN

(Founder and President)

Ava is a high school student attending Punahou School in Honolulu, Hawaii. Ever since she was four years old, Ava has been a passionate artist. She enjoys creating artwork that shines light on society’s imperfections to promote action toward a better future for all.

Some of Ava’s favorite art mediums include graphite, charcoal, and acrylic paint. She is working on a vast art portfolio centralized around depicting individuals candidly. Her mission is to illustrate the true emotions which she sees.

Noticing the lack of access to mental health resources in her home-state and understanding the therapeutic outlet art can provide, Ava decided to instill her passion for making art in other children. She wanted to provide Hawaii’s children with a space to find resilience, calm their thoughts, and heal through the power of art. Ava founded a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, Art2Wellness, dedicated to children’s well-being.
