HUGS Summer Workshop: June 2022
Art2Wellness has initiated a partnership with the Help, Understanding & Group Support (HUGS) organization, a group that helps Hawaii families who have a child struggling with severe illness. Our team has joined together with HUGS and HUGS families to put on a live painting session. The goal of this session was to provide families with a creative outlet for self expression and support.
The 1,000 Card Project: June 2022 - Present
Our Art Pals initiative partnered with Pu’uhonua o Waianae as well as Punahou School’s Capstone course and Junior School summer programs in a combined effort to create one thousand hand-drawn cards for children in Hawaii’s hospitals. Our cards contain pre-written uplifting messages and students add their own personalized positive drawings to empower, promote wellness, and spread Aloha. We share our warmth and love with Hawaii’s children to enliven and uplift.
Art Supply Drive: April 2022
To enhance our art kit initiative, our organization sets up art supply drives at Punahou School where we receive supply donations. Through this event, we have raised over 2,000 art supplies. We collect all of these materials and work with children in Pu’uhonua o Waianae to repurpose and recondition them with the goal to create art kits out of these new supplies.
